EquiGLO food grade milled flaxseed is a 40% vegetable fat product that compliments forages by providing energy, essential fatty acids, essential amino acids and vitamins.

Why feed EquiGLO?
•Research on adding fat to horse diets has shown that fats provide more energy per lb., are more easily digested, and actually decrease the thermal load in working horses compared to grains. Dietary fat also has a sparing effect on muscle glycogen stores, allowing horses to do more work before tiring.

•Substitution of fat for some of the grain in high-energy rations decreases the need for fermentive digestion of starches, thereby reducing the likelihood of colic, tying up, laminitis, and founder.

•The type of fat found in EquiGLO contains high levels of omega 3 fatty acids, the “good” fat human research is now focusing on.

•EquiGLO is rich in potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorous, niacin, eight essential amino acids, and lecithin. EquiGLO is an excellent source of Vitamin E, an antioxidant that can provide improved immune response, increased exercise endurance, improved nerve function, and improved muscle function.

•EquiGLO contains generous amounts of both insoluble and soluble fibre. Soluble fibre has been shown to be an effective cholesterol-lowering agent. Insoluble fibre has the capacity to hold water, and as a result helps to regulate manure consistency.

•EquiGLO comes in a meal form that is very palatable and can be fed alone, or top-dressed on other feeds.

•Users of EquiGLO report a healthy shine and “glo” in the hair coats of their horses.

Typical feeding rates of EquiGLO are 1/4 to 1 lb. per horse daily, depending on the horse’s work load. For your convenience, each bag of EquiGLO comes with a scoop that measures a 1/4 lb. of product when full.
