| Use as a Liniment, Brace & Body Wash. Menthol, the active ingredient in Trainer’s Choice 5000, is a counterirritant that produces a cooling sensation. Trainer’s Choice 5000 goes on cool (brace) followed by a feeling of deeper warmth (liniment). Directions for Use as a Liniment & Brace. Generously apply Trainer’s Choice 5000 and gently work the product into the coat. Use before and after exercise and repeat as necessary. A common method of use involves washing down the areas to be treated with warm water prior to application. Apply Trainer’s Choice 5000 while the coat is still wet. The warm waters serves to open the pores of the horse’s skin for quicker penetration and allows easier application of Trainer’s Choice 5000. It is not necessary or recommended to massage the product vigorously in order to create more of a “liniment” effect. Vigorous massage while using Trainer’s Choice 5000 may cause scurfing and blistering. It is also not advisable to apply Trainer’s Choice 5000 over the rib cage, particularly where it will be under the saddle or girth. Directions for Use as a Body Wash. Mix one part Trainer’s Choice 5000 with five parts warm water and apply as a refreshing all-over body wash. Sponge the mixture on the shoulder and hindquarter regions beginning at the spine and working down the legs. Directions for Use as a Freeze. Trainer’s Choice 5000 may be used in conjunction with ice or cold water prior to competition or workout. Completely coat the horse’s lower legs with Trainer’s Choice 5000 gel 2 hours before competition. Wrap with cold water bandages. Pour cold water over the bandages or place legs into an ice-filled bucket of water or apply ice wraps. Keep cold while reapplying Trainer’s Choice 5000 every 30 minutes. Before taking the horse to the paddock, reapply Trainer’s Choice 5000 and wrap with sheet cotton, Vetrap®, and soak with ice water to prolong the freezing action. Directions for Use with Standing Bandages and Wraps. Generously coat the area to be wrapped with Trainer’s Choice 5000 and gently work into the coat without vigorous massage. Apply sheet cotton and wrap with standing bandages. Application for several days in a row under wraps, may cause blistering of the skin. If excessive irritation develops, discontinue treatment and consult a veterinarian. |

Warnings.For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, call a physician or contact a poison control center. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes, broken or irritated skin.
